Michell expands to new sensor production facility

Market-leading moisture sensing manufacturer, Michell Instruments, has installed a new larger, clean room facility for the production of dew-point and humidity sensors at its main manufacturing site in Ely, UK. This major investment demonstrates the company’s very positive market outlook as well as its commitment in the continuous improvement of its products and processes. This new controlled-environment production area will further enhance the performance of Michell’s already tightly managed manufacture of sensing elements and ensure the rapidly growing demand for humidity transmitters and probes is met in the future.

Two types of humidity sensor elements are produced in the facility. The latest generation of ceramic dew point sensors are used in Michell’s high-demand Easidew dew-point transmitters for compressed air-drying applications, as well as in the Promet process moisture analyzers which are used around the world to maintain quality of natural gas.

The fast-responding polymer humidity sensors provide fast, stable readings of humidity. They are used in Michell’s HS3 configurable humidity probe, as well as in the MDM50 portable hygrometers.
