Michell Instruments show case complimentary range of analysers for petro-chemical applications |

Michell Instruments, leading manufacturers of precision instruments, will be showcasing their range of ATEX certified analyzers at Off Shore Europe on stand 131. The range uses complimentary measurement techniques to measure hydrocarbon dew point, moisture in liquids, moisture in gases and oxygen analysis.
The new XTP600 is a robust self-contained oxygen transmitter that makes oxygen measurement in the process industry as simple as a field pressure or temperature measurement. While traditional paramagnetic oxygen analysers suffer from drift, Michell’s latest thermo paramagnetic technology makes this transmitter almost drift-free.
The XTP600 measures oxygen content between 0.01 and 100% using the latest developments in non-depleting thermo-paramagnetic technology. With no moving parts, the transmitter can be sited directly in harsh industrial environments without any risk of interference from vibration. The extremely compact size and simple design of the XTP600 makes it ideal for installation next to the measurement point with no additional cost for extensive piping or frequent maintenance and calibration.
Liquidew EExd is a purpose-designed flameproof certified solution to on-line continuous moisture measurement for petrochemical liquid applications. The instrument is designed to be wholly installed in the hazardous area, so simplifying site installation and retrofits. Moisture content is determined in parts per million by weight (ppmw) through Henry’s Law calculation. The method utilizes the measured dew point temperature, the liquid temperature and values from a pre-programmed extensive list of saturation concentration data for a variety of petrochemical liquids. For cases where customised liquid characteristics data are required, they can be entered quickly and easily by the user.
It is certified as flameproof for use in IEC Zone 1 and 2/NEC Class 1 Div. 1 and 2 hazardous areas. The main unit (electronics and sensor) together with the associated sampling system may be mounted at a convenient location next to the pipeline or process with liquid sample and process return connections.
Liquidew EExd utilizes the Michell Ceramic Moisture Sensor with integrated temperature measurement, offering proven reliability and performance with numerous installations in natural gas or petrochemical applications. The moisture in liquid analyser offers a complete measurement range capability from low trace moisture below 1 ppmw up to the saturation concentration specific to the fluid being measured and the analysis temperature.
Condumax was originally designed by Michell Instruments in partnership with Shell Research in 1984 to measure the hydrocarbon dew point of natural gas with optimum reliability and accuracy. In the 25 years since its development, Condumax is still recognised by many national and multinational companies involved in the production, storage and distribution of natural gas as the benchmark instrument with which to reliably record the hydrocarbon dew point of natural gas.
Promet EExd offers the customer a complete moisture measurement package for critical gas applications with features including EExd Flameproof ATEX and CSA certification, complete zone 1 or 2 installation and a remote interface option for mounting in a safe area location if required. The new process moisture analyser also offers single- and dual-channel moisture content capability, with integrated electronic pressure measurement, within the same single field installed flameproof housing.
