Michell Expands Calibration Lab to Increase Hydrocarbon Dew-Point Analyzer Capacity |

Responding to a rapidly increasing global demand for its process analyzers, Michell Instruments has recently expanded its calibration laboratory for hydrocarbon dew-point and process moisture analyzers, more than doubling capacity. The company has also added to its team of engineers to help keep up with the increasing workload and maintain quick delivery times. The expanded facility in Michell's Ely factory allows the analyzers to be calibrated in high pressure air and natural gas, faithfully reproducing real-world conditions.
In the natural gas and petrochemical industries, moisture measurement is important in a multitude of process gases and liquids, but it is also one of the most difficult and demanding tasks for process engineering. To maintain a process at a specific moisture content or to avoid exceeding defined moisture levels is often crucial. Michell’s state-of-the-art, on-line Promet and Liquidew analyzers help to increase plant efficiency and safety in many petrochemical sites across the globe – as well as saving companies millions of dollars in maintenance and down-time each year.
Using the ‘dark spot’ principle, the Condumax II hydrocarbon dew-point analyzer is used to ensure natural gas quality at pipeline custody transfer, to prevent gas turbine burner failure and to prolong the life of process equipment. Through Michell’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement, Condumax II is a world-wide success story, with installations on around 80 percent of the natural gas pipelines across central, western and southern Europe and also the Americas, Middle East and South East Asia.
