Michell Instruments, manufacturer of hydrocarbon and water dew point analyzers, will be show-casing its new range of Oxygen Analyzers at the Australasian Oil and Gas Expo. The new product line uses recent developments in sensing technology to measure oxygen at both trace (ppm) levels as well as percentage oxygen concentrations and forms a natural step in Michell’s growth strategy.
The XTP-600Y Series of Oxygen Analyzers are housed in explosion-proof enclosures. The XTP-600Y is based on the Michell proprietary advanced thermoparamagnetic technology which has no moving parts. This makes the sensor ideal for applications where it will be exposed to movement and vibration – such as on board an oil tanker.
Other Michell products featuring at the show include the Condumax II and Promet EExd. The Condumax was developed by Michell Instruments in partnership with Shell Research to measure the hydrocarbon dew point of natural gas with optimum reliability and accuracy, using Michell’s patented ‘Dark Spot’ technique.
Typically, Condumax II will be installed next to a natural gas pipeline in a hazardous area. It will take a sample of gas from the pipeline, condition the gas at a preset pressure, and filter out any contaminating particulate matter or hydrocarbon liquids.
Promet EExd offers the customer a complete moisture measurement package for critical gas applications with features including EExd Flameproof ATEX and CSA certification, complete zone 1 or 2 installation and a remote interface option for mounting in a safe area location if required. It also offers single- and dual-channel moisture content capability, with integrated electronic pressure measurement, within the same single field installed flameproof housing.
